CALL FOR ABSTRACTS IS NOW OPEN AND DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 25th AUGUST

The Women in Vision and Eye Research (Ireland) are delighted to announce to their inaugural conference. The overarching remit of the conference is to promote research and the sharing of ideas and expertise in all aspects of the field of ophthalmology. We aim to support and promote the visibility of women at all stages of their careers, whether that be as a student, a researcher, an ophthalmologist, an optometrist, a pharmacist, a clinician, surgeon or nurse. With this is mind we are hosting the inaugural conference on 10th September 2021.

This event will be hosted online. There are multiple sessions in the program specifically dedicated to providing opportunities to women at all stages of their careers to discuss their work. We encourage those new to research/ clinical work, those recently returned from periods of leave and experienced researchers/ clinicians to submit abstracts for consideration in these sessions. We also encourage submissions from students. The format of the session is 5 minutes rapid fire presentations based on selected abstract submissions, following by a short Q&A. Sessions will be divided into be clinical, innovation/ telemedicine and scientific research. CPD points pending.

This event will also feature the prestigious Dr Kathleen Lynn award for the best oral presentation from an investigator/ innovator to acknowledge women at early stages of their careers. Additionally, prizes are available for the best poster submissions.
