The updated Antimicrobial Stewardship for Community Pharmacists online programme is now available on our website. Developed by the HSE Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control (AMRIC) team, this resource is specifically designed for community pharmacists.
The programme aims to enhance awareness of antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial stewardship principles. Given that 90% of antimicrobial use occurs in the community, pharmacists play a crucial role in optimising antibiotic use and minimising antimicrobial-related harm in a person-centred manner.
This interactive eLearning module introduces pharmacists to existing stewardship systems and supports, directs them to up-to-date resources, and uses clinical scenarios to illustrate best practices.
The programme is fully online and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.
