Our revised and innovative MSc in Hospital Pharmacy, with the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin, embraces a flexible blend of face-to-face study days, with interactive webinars and online learning materials. It is the only broad-based hospital pharmacy course in Ireland, covering both clinical and non-clinical aspects of hospital pharmacy practice, and prepares you to take on Advanced Specialist Pharmacist (ASP) & leadership roles, across a range of specialties and services.
Our students develop the expert knowledge and skills necessary to undertake all aspects of hospital pharmacy, working on real life patient cases, practice-based guidance and policy work, and quality improvement initiatives. Intensive practical experience will be gained by each student during their hospital attachment, with the opportunity to gain advanced clinical decision-making skills, under the expert guidance of an assigned tutor(s), who will provide valuable, tailored, developmental feedback. Students also have the opportunity to conduct practice research and publish their work under the expert guidance of an academic advisor.
The success of our MSc was formally recognized when we were awarded GradIreland Postgraduate Course of the Year, Health Sciences division. Our multifunctional have taken on a wide range of advanced pharmacy practice and leadership roles, not only in hospital practice, but also across the wider healthcare service e.g. HSE, HIQA, NCCP, NCPE.
