Eolas Medical App

BNF now available for Irish healthcare professionals via the Eolas Medical App

The Eolas Medical App has recently been extended to include the BNF and BNFc for all healthcare professionals in Ireland. This BNF feature includes the adult and children’s formularies as well as the accompanying information such as the interaction checker, treatment summaries and prescribing guidance.

The BNF feature on the Eolas Medical app has been reviewed and approved for use by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), who we licence the BNF content from.  Once a month, the RPS update the BNF content. These updates are automatically added to the Eolas app. This means that an Eolas app user can be confident that they have the most up to date information.

As well as the BNF, the app also includes access to 1000s of national guidelines from trusted sources. These guidelines have been collated and kept up to date by the Eolas Medical team. Many of these guidelines focus on the treatment of certain conditions, which includes pharmacological, as well as other treatment options.

Finally, the app also aggregates a large number of Patient Information Leaflets. These are shareable with patients via QR code, which is automatically displayed when opening the leaflet. There are many pharmacy-specific leaflets such as those relating to certain medications as well as the HSE Health Care Associated Infections leaflets.

The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store and/or Google Play by searching for Eolas Medical or scanning the QR code you need (below).
