This presentation provides an overview of the causes, investigations, and treatment options for infertility, with a focus on assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), and intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). It outlines key treatment regimens, their administration, risks, and pharmacist practice points, including medication supply and counselling. The presentation also reviews recent legislative developments, including the 2024 Health (Assisted Human Reproduction) Act and establishment of the Assisted Human Reproduction Regulatory Authority (AHRRA). Finally, it highlights the expansion of publicly funded fertility hubs, reflecting Ireland’s growing commitment to equitable access and regulation in fertility care.
