Diagnosis and Treatment of Suspected Narcotic (i.e. Opioid) Overdose and the Supply and Administration of Naloxone Training Programme

This blended learning programme is provided by the HSE and includes an evening course accompanied by pre and post course online learning.

Participants will be required to complete pre-course learning, attend the evening classroom event and complete a post-course learning assessment and evaluation.

Pharmacists who have successfully completed  one of the following  may undertake the Diagnosis and Treatment of Suspected Narcotic (i.e. Opioid) Overdose and the Supply and Administration of Naloxone Programme:

  • Face to face CPR training which meets the standards - Cardiac First Response Community Level, PreHospital Emergency Care Council or Heartsaver® CPR AED, American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Any other CPR course which the Council of the PSI may recognise from time to time.

Tea and coffee will be available at the venue from 18:30 and the session will commence promptly at 19:00.

High Risk Medicine

You must  fully complete  the Managing Quality in Pharmacy Practice  online component before attending this workshop, instructions for accessing the workshop materials will be automatically provided once the online component has been completed. To enrol yourself on the "Managing Quality in Pharmacy Practice" click  HERE

This training programme is provided by the IACME and involves a full day training course building on the learning in the Managing Quality in Pharmacy Practice online training programme .

This face to face course is intended for pharmacists who have completed the on-line " Managing Quality in Pharmacy Practice " online programme and who wish to apply principles of quality management to the prescription/supply/administration/use of high risk medicines.

  • Location:  Irish Management Institute, Sandyford Rd, Dundrum, Dublin
  • Start Time:  9:00AM
  • End Time:  17:00PM

Opioid Substitution and Needle Exchange Programme

This blended learning programme is provided by the HSE and includes an evening course in Limerick on 19 September accompanied by pre and post course online learning.

Participants will be required to complete pre-course learning, attend the evening classroom event and complete a post-course learning assessment and evaluation.

Tea and coffee will be available at the venue from 19:00 and the session will commence promptly at 19:30.
