The Delivering a Pharmacy-based Vaccination Service Training Course covers how to prepare the pharmacist, pharmacy team and premises for the delivery of a vaccination service. If you are an experienced vaccinator you do not have to complete this training programme but you may want to in order to refresh your skills. In this context an experienced vaccinator is someone who administered the influenza vaccination during the 2016/2017 influenza season as an experienced vaccinator, i.e. those who had completed influenza vaccination training in 2015 and vaccinated patients for two consecutive years within the last four years.

The certificate for the Delivering a Pharmacy-based Vaccination Service Training Course is valid for two years.

The programme is a self-directed fully online training programme which may take approximately two hours to complete.

You must be logged in to book a place on this course.

On successful completion of this programme pharmacists should be able to competently and safely:

  • Prepare the pharmacy setting for a vaccination service
  • Perform relevant assessment of patients in order to administer the correct medicine
