Cancer Cachexia State of the Science - Knowledge, Assessment and Management

Key Speaker - Dr Martin Chasen medical director of Palliative Care at the William Osler Health Service in Brampton, Toronto. He was Medical Director of the McGill Cancer Nutrition-Rehabilitation Program, Montreal and founded the Palliative Rehabilitation Program at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital, Ottawa. He was the principal investigator on numerous cachexia research studies and is editor-in-chief of the open access peer reviewed journal Current Oncology.

- An overview of the current evidence base regarding the assessment and management of cancer cachexia
- Developing a service to manage cancer cachexia
- Experiences in pioneering practice change and the case for palliative rehabilitation to manage cachexia symptoms
